Bartol Hervas was born in Alcoy, a city in Eastern Spain near the Mediterranean in 1954.
He is self-taught and his art is a faithful exponent of naïve art in what the term has as a positive in terms of aesthetic expression; poise, good taste and inventiveness play a good part in his compositions.
The human figure are the main protagonists of his art. From the drawings made with them, he covers an endless number of different themes, playing with chromaticism, innocent and relaxing themes, as well as occasionally drawing full of sarcasm and humour.
